ArcelorMittal produces a specific range of flat steel products for domestic appliances to optimise technical performance.
The versatility and durability of steel makes it the perfect material for use in domestic appliances, and ArcelorMittal produces specific grades of flat steel products such as steel sheets, strips and plates for use in a wide variety of appliances, including ovens and refrigerators.
We have successful partnerships with some of the major domestic appliance manufacturers, including Bosch Siemens, Electrolux, Whirlpool, Indesit and Miele. Our project teams work with each customer to understand their product needs, ensure consistency in quality and provide technical and logistical support.
ArcelorMittal has introduced a range of coated flat products, Estetic®, for specific use in domestic appliances. Each product in the Estetic® range is used for domestic appliances with specific end uses, to optimise technical performance. Estetic® Cold is used for refrigerators, chest freezers and microwave ovens. Estetic® Hot is used for ovens, cookers and extractor hoods in kitchens. Estetic® Wet is used to make washing machines, dishwashers and tumble dryers. Estetic® Bright has applications in products with high aesthetic and gloss appearance, such as refrigerator facades, and for appliances with food contact.
Estetic® Cold, Hot, Wet and High Tech products are produced on a continuous coil coating line, applying one or more liquid organic paint layers to the steel product. Estetic® Bright is manufactured by hot lamination of a PET – polyethylene terephthalate – film onto the final paint layer. The layer of paint on organic coated steel enhances both its durability and appearance. Estetic® also saves cost in manufacturing, energy use and storage, and it has an ecological advantage as effluents and waste are not produced during the surface treatment of steel.
